What is Zidoval?
Zidoval is an antibiotic vaginal gel used to treat bacterial vaginosis (BV). It works by killing the bacteria that are causing BV and reducing the uncomfortable symptoms.

What is Zidoval?
Zidoval is an antibacterial medication that can kill bacteria causing infections including bacterial vaginosis (BV).
How does it work?
This cream is applied inside the vagina where it can kill the bacteria directly at the site of the infection. The active ingredient metronidazole kills the bacteria responsible for BV.
Is Zidoval suitable for me?
If you have a BV it is important for it to be treated and cleared completely otherwise the infection can come back. This medication is intended to be used by adults.

Ensure you wash your hands before opening the tube or touching the applicators.
The adult dose of Zidoval gel is one 5g applicator inserted into the vagina once a day, at bedtime, for five consecutive days.
Side Effects
All medications can cause potential side effects, below we have listed some potential side effects, however, these do not always occur.
- Headache and dizziness
- Stomach cramps
- Being sick (vomiting)
- Unpleasant taste in the mouth
- Unusual feeling on your tongue
- Dry skin
- Redness or itching of the skin
- Skin discomfort (burning, pain of skin/stinging)
- Skin irritation
- Vaginal thrush
- Vaginal discharge
- Discomfort around your pelvis
- Decreased appetite

Zidoval can be applied with the provided applicator. It is an effective and safe way to treat bacterial vaginosis.
